René Block

Born in 1942.

Opened a gallery in Berlin in 1964 at the age of 22, whose first exhibitions and performances were arranged with, by then also young artists like Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Wolf Vostell, Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik and the international Fluxus group a.o.

As Germany’s youngest gallery owner he was admitted in 1967 to the “Association of Progressive German Art Dealers”, which organized the first art fairs in Cologne.

In 1974 he was awarded with the art prize of the German Critics Association for his ten-year gallery program in Berlin. In the same year he opened an exhibition space in New York with I like America and America likes me by Joseph Beuys.

At the same time Block started to work as an independent curator, he curated Downtown Manhattan: SoHo, 1976, and Für Augen und Ohren, 1980, both for the Berlin Festival and the Akademie der Künste Berlin as well as, Art Allemagne Aujourd’hui for the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, 1981.

In 1982 Block started his work for the Berlin Artists Residence Program of the DAAD. Until 1992 he was in charge of the visual artists and composers and organized many exhibitions and concerts (i.e. the Festival of Music Inventionen).

From 1993 until 1995 he determined the program of the exhibition service at the Institute for Foreign Relations (IFA), which is responsible for the presentation of German Art abroad.

In 1994 he received the Danish Arthur Køpcke-Preis in Copenhagen (after Lawrence Weiner (1991), Per Kirkeby (1992) and Ilya Kabakov (1993).
In 2005 he received the Art Cologne Prize for his Lifework.
Since July 1997 director of the Kunsthalle Museum Fridericianum in Kassel.

Rene Blok

Rođen 1942.

Godine 1964, u svojoj 22. godini, osnovao je galeriju u kojoj su izlagali, takođe, mladi i nepoznati umetnici kao Gerhard Rihter (Gerhard Richter), Sigmar Polke, Volf Fostel (Wolf Vostell), Jozef Bojs (Joseph Beuys), Nam Džun Pajk (Nam June Paik) i međunarodna grupa Fluxus.

Kao najmlađi nemački galerista 1967. je pristupio “Udruženju naprednih nemačkih umetničkih dilera”, koji je organizovao prve umetničke sajmove u Kelnu.

Nagrade

Godine 1974. dobio je nagradu Udruženja nemačkih kritičara za desetogodišnji program u svojoj berlinskoj galeriji. Iste godine je u Njujorku otvorio galeriju izložbom Jozefa Bojsa «Volim Ameriku i Amerika voli mene».

Istovremeno je radio i kao nezavisni kustos. Priredio je izložbe “Downtown Manhattan: SoHo”, 1976. i “Für Augen und Ohren”, 1980, za Berlinski festival i Akademiju umetnosti u Berlinu, kao i “Art Allemagne Aujourd’hui” u Muzeju moderne umetnosti grada Pariza, 1981.

Godine 1982. počeo je da radi na berlinskom rezidencijalnom umetničkom programu za DAAD. Do 1992. bio je zadužen za vizuelne umetnike i kompozitore i organizovao je brojne izložbe i koncerte (muzički festival “Inventionen”).

U periodu 1993 – 1995. bio je odgovoran za izlagački programa u IFA, koji je zadužen za predstavljanje nemačke umetnosti u inostranstvu.

Godine 1994. dobio je prestižnu dansku nagradu “Arthur Køpcke”.
Godine 2005. dobio je nagradu za životno delo Art Cologne.
Od jula 1997. je direktor Kunsthalle Fridericianum u Kaselu, Nemačka.

Barbara Hajnrih

Rodjena 1960. Studirala Istoriju umetnosti i Arheologiju u Frankfurtu, Teoriju umetnosti i Sociologiju u Kaselu. Od 1998. radi kao kustos i asistent umetničkog direktora u Kunsthalle Fridericianum u Kaselu, kao saradnik na izložbama documenta 9, documenta 10 i documenta 11. Živi u Kaselu.

Aleksandra Estela Bjelica Mladenović (1967, Beograd, Srbija i Crna Gora).

Istoričar umetnosti, kustos i kritičar. Diplomirala na Filozofskom fakultetu (Grupa za istoriju umetnosti). Od 1986. objavljuje tekstove o savremenim vizuelnim umetnostima u stručnim časopisima i katalozima izložbi. Od 2003. radi u Kulturnom centru Beograda kao kustos Oktobarskog salona i za medjunarodne izložbe. Član AICA-e, Društva istoričara umetnosti Srbije i Nacionalnog centra za fotografiju.

Živi i radi u Beogradu, Srbija.

Barbara Heinrich

Born in 1960. Studied Art History and Archeology in Frankfurt am Main, Art Theory and Sociology in Kassel. Since 1998 curator and assistant to the artistic director at Kunsthalle Fridericianum Kassel, collaboration in documenta 9, registrar of documenta 10 and documenta 11. Lives in Kassel.

Aleksandra Estela Bjelica Mladenović (1967, Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro).

Art historian, curator and art critic.  Graduated at the Faculty of Philosophy (Department for History of Art). Since 1986. writes and publishes articles about contemporary visual arts in exhibition catalogues and art magazines. Since 2003. works as curator of October Salon and for international programme at the Belgrade Cultural Center (www.kcb.org.yu). Member of AICA, Association of Art Historian of Serbia and National Center of Photography.

Lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia.
