Brehmer’s aesthetic strategy was not merely the instrumentalization of ‘popular’ forms of visual language. This political artist was also always concerned with thematicizing the means and the medium, the forms of communication and the methods of appropriation. […] For Brehmer aesthetics had meaning and validity as a theory of perception – yet incorporating the perception of interests, or even their pursuit. He alluded sculpturally to the intrinsic aesthetic contradictions between the various disciplines, the media and the senses: between music, language and the visual arts, between auditive, verbal and visual communication. […] Brehmer generalized his position on questions of representation, reproduction or exhibition and demonstration to “visualization problems“: “For example, the problem of representing aesthetic processes analogously to real processes“. At the same time, of crucial significance to him was the “symbolic value, rather than the psychological; and the representation of a process. The scale is a fine opportunity to demonstrate movement. The image has one disadvantage: it can only depict one specific situation. When I present various things by placing them in juxtaposition I can, for example, visualize tendencies and processes using various color changes and, in this way, present symbolic values by means of aesthetic modifications“.

Bremerova estetska strategija nije bila samo instrumentalizacija 'popularnih' oblika likovnog jezika, nego je političnom umetniku uvek bilo stalo i do tematizacije sredstava i medija, oblika komunikacije i načina učenja. […] Bremeru je estetika bila bitna i osnovna, kao učenje o percepciji – ali, upravo, i o percepciji interesa. Likovnim sredstvima davao je svoj komentar na protivrečnosti između različitih disciplina, medija i čula: između muzike, jezika i likovne umetnosti, između auditivne, verbalne i vizuelne komunikacije. […] Svoj stav o pitanjima prikazivanja, ilustracije, ili javnog izlaganja, ili demonstracije, Bremer je uopšteno nazivao "problemima vizuelizacije": "na primer: prikazivanje estetskih procesa analogno stvarnim procesima". Za njega je, pri tom, bila presudna "simbolička vrednost, a ne psihološka; pojednako kao i prikaz nekog procesa. Skala predstavlja dobru mogućnost da se demonstrira neki pokret. Slika ima jedan opštepoznati nedostatak: može da ilustruje samo jednu određenu situaciju. Kada nudim razne stvari, stavljajući ih jedne pored drugih, mogu da, primera radi, putem različitih neujednačenosti tonova boja, prezentujući simboličke vrednosti kroz estetsku promenu, vizuelizujem tendencije i procese".
