Tim Silver’s exploration of entropic processes spans the materiality of things alongside the language of art itself. Often using ephemeral mediums, such as rubber, chocolate honeycomb, fairy floss and even watercolour paint to create his sculptures, Silver deliberately courts his objects´ expiration and their tendency to mutate without grace. As such, many of his previous works blur the distinction between the object figured and the ground it is set upon. [...]

The photographic series Untitled (killing me softly) also confirms that even the timeless desert island fantasy has succumbed to erosion. This clichéd escapist memory, so often glimpsed as a tropical paradise in the mind’s eye, is depicted as a defunct oasis. Stranded on the shores of a picture-perfect vista lays the disintegrating corpse of a man; strewn like wreckage of a future we never got the chance to visit. The man’s inert body appears to be made of sand and gradually dissolves with each tide of crashing waves.

Bez naziva (nežno me ubijajući), 2005/06.

Istraživanje entropijskih procesa Tima Silvera obuhvata materijalnost stvari i sam jezik umetnosti. [...]
