SRETEN UGRIČIĆ was born in Herceg Novi, Montenegro in 1961. He completed his primary and secondary education in Belgrade, as well as graduating in philosophy from the Belgrade University. He was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Priština, teaching Aesthetics and Ethics from 1992 to 1997. He has published several books and was the editor-in-chief of the magazines Pismo (Zemun, 1989–1991) and Univerzitetska misao (Priština, 1993–1996). In 2001 he became the director of the National Library of Serbia, a position he held until January 20th 2012, when he was dismissed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
